You have nothing to lose in investing a few dollars in to Michael Vick. He has everything to lose. So, if he sucks it up out there, cut his arse. If not, keep him. You don't have to start him over Brees, just bring him in to help out. He could make a quick run, or act as a slot receiver. It would take some pressure off of Brees and Reggie.

You lose a roster spot for someone that can provide depth at a position of need. QB is hardly a position of need. Thats just one thing, and I don't believe any Saints coach would want him on the 53...hell, I wouldn't put him on the 80 for training camp.

How good do you think he will be?
I think he will be good. He has to be, or his arse is grass.

Vick is a badass!!! I say bring him in. Let Brees mentor him with Dungy and let the guy try to redeem himself.

Brees completion % goes up when he is flushed out of the pocket.

Don't need Vick. Wouldn't be a bad place for him to be though, Dungy mentoring and behind Brees.

Plus, give me a rebuilding Vick over both Harrington and Brunell combined.

all the nfl teams are acting like cowards. vick is better then at least half the qb in the league right know. he's better the both the saints backups. plus you could use him as more then a qb. make a football move not the safe move

Exactly. If he knew enough, then he'd still be a coach. Now if it was Belicheck, then I'd be listening. And for the people saying we can use Vick for a Wildcat...we don't need the wildcat!

If it helps us win, lets look at it. He is not a complete arse or anything

Bottom line is that if Payton brings Vick in and he helps the Saints win games, then all these naysaysers in here will be all over Vick's dick and will be praising Payton for the brilliant move he's made.

IMO, it will not hurt to bring Vick in. Hell, give him Harrington's spot. He will never see the field anyway. If Vick looks like he's lost his skills, cut him. Simple as that. I know for sure he will contribute more to the team than sorry arse Joey H.

Michael Vick > Joey Harrington

End of story.

Worst case, we cut him. Lots of positives (potential trade value, solid backup to Brees, utility player, etc).

I've been thinking this too. If he came to the saints and at least showed he can contribute, he could have good trade value, considering we signed him for cheap.

Benson needs to tell Peyton to sign Vick to the league's minimum for this year.

Do we really want all the negative press?
I'm not against signing him. But every time any saint is interviewed, they will have to answer questions about how Vick is fitting.

Does anyone think PETA will try to attack the team that signs him?

solid backup to Brees

How? Cause he can run with the ball. Our offense is set up to pass, I would take the 457 year old Brunell over Vick for that.
