I think the refs just dislike Payton and are looking for things to call against him(or not call). I also think refs get bought off by bookies from time to time. I don’t think there is a conspiracy to fix games by the league but I don’t put it past them to screw teams via scheduling. 7/8 TNF games on the road is criminal.

Worked with a guy about 15 years ago. His brother was a ref, and said his brother could predict the winner of 80% of the games based on what crew was officiating.

Saints fan (50 years)and product liability lawyer. This bullshite about real conspiracy not existing is as “fake news” as it gets. I find them every damn year in litigation like many lawyers, they write a check and I am not allowed to say shite, except wake the frick up.
As far as officials go I know high school games have been fixed because clients that were officials have confessed this to me, Alabama didn’t get a holding Call in Bryant Denny for over a decade is All you need to know about college and we know in the pros that NBA officials were corrupt as hell and bet on games from the tell All book by former Red.
So why the hell should NFL be any different?
It obviously wasn’t. They don’t fix results they just make it as hard as possible to win.

Somebody needs to put together a good conspiracy video on YouTube with evidence the falcons game was rigged ... like the ones for that old nba ref who was making blatant calls in garbage time that corresponded with the point spreads . Tim Donahue or whatever.
