Rattler had his chance and he's clearly not going to be more than a career backup. Which ain't nothing FWIW. Kid has earned at least five to ten years of making a few million bucks a season. Good for him.
The biggest detriment IMO is his (lack of) size and athleticism. It keeps his ceiling VERY low. The absolute ceiling for Rattler would be a poor man's Baker Mayfield. But Baker is low key a VERY good athlete.
Shough has a higher ceiling and it's beyond time to find out if he's got the stuff to be a starter, or if we'll be looking at QB's again in the winter / spring.

They’re not keeping both is these guys.
My guess is they bring in a vet and let Shough earn the job next season. Rattler will given the opportunity to play the part of Jake Heaner in 2026

That seems a lot of Dallas the tv show. Maybe best man plays until someone better comes along.
