All right, all right. Look guys, you can't argue with TOWELIE and SFP about the Bush subject. Trust me, from experience they will NEVER change their position on Reggie.

Let me state facts from both sides of this. He is not a true bruiser back and will never run dudes over like Deuce Mac. He is, however you look at it, a weapon on this team. In space he is dangerous. He's fast, and, has made plays consistently for this team.

Don't feed me this shite about he hasn't done anything in 2 yrs crap. That dude was a MAJOR contributor to our 06 season.

Oh, and one more thing. This is a FACT. Our run blocking sucks right now. Don't attribute ALL his negative runs to an inabillity on his part. If there were holes there, you would see a HUGE difference in his between the tackles running.

no the point is bush has gotten injured also

you can't bring up injuries when bush missed a chunk of his 2nd year due to injuries

And my point is he was showing improvement before he was injured last year, his game went downhill after the injury, while it wasn't leaps and bounds better than his previous year.

quote:

he didn't. most say he regressed, but i think he was just the same guy and Ds schemed him better

Once again, play went down after the injury and due to the fact that we tried to turn him into Deuce. AP got hurt before the last two weeks of the season and went for like a combined 50 yards.

quote:

it doesn't take a genius to see his patented stutter before the hole was still in full effect

Watch the game, when the hole is closed, he stutters, when he had an open one, like 2 or 3 times last night, he hit it and gained some good yardage. But because Lance Moore is so wonderful and can hold onto everything, including CB's, they got called back. I'm not sure RB will be as good as I think he will be. I'll eat serious crow if he doesn't become that. But it was the first preseason game and he hardly played. Let's calm down and wait to cast judgement after week 1.

Reggie Bush

For your convenience, SFP, I linked Reggie's stats. He's pretty good at football things, just not the tough running back stuff.

Once again, Reggie Bush has been in the NFL for two years. I don't understand why we can't pass judgement.

*ETA: and i'm not saying that we cut him. but in a year or so if he doesn't improve we need to force him to take a major fricking paycut

NO NO NO, your biggest gripe with the structure of the NFL is that billionaire owners have the upper hand when dealing with millionaire players in regards to contracts. We recently had a little debate about this.

So, how can you advocate a *gasp* paycut?

no it's a 2-way street

as long as players can hold out, i have no problem with owners having other leverage

SLow, I know you like to use stats to beat your points into the ground, but what I am saying about 06 is FACT.

He put points on the board, acted as a DECOY to allow OTHER players to put points on the board, and that ultimately gave us the "W"'s we needed to get to that NFC championship game, which he scored in as well.

That is all. Thank you

my comments in those arguments are always directed towards people who say something along these lines:

"stupid pampered millionaires holding out for more millions. GET IN THERE AND PLAY THE DAMN GAME."

adn usually there is a reference to how they played for the love of the game in high school and would play for free now

if reggie has a awesome year, not saying he will or won't, SFP will never comment about him again because he doesnt admit when he's wrong

Would they have been good runs without the holds?? Things that make ya go HHHMMMMM

The long draw that he ran on 3rd and 18 that got the first down was called because of a dumb hold by Lance Moore. Bush was long gone when Moore held him.

I think Reggie looked pretty good. The O-line didn't help him out too much against a mediocre Cardinals D-line.

Not said by me. My comments were:

quote:

My opinion on that is that I dont give a rats arse what kind of money problems happen between two entities that happen to be in the top 1 to 3 percent (income wise) in the country. One billionare fricks over one hundred millionares. I'll start to care when one of them starts paying my bills.

I actually think that both sides should stick to the contract. I also think that rookie salaries are way out of line but I don't mind a rookie holding out to get what is fair.

So, asking Bush to take a paycut regardless of his performance this season is, in my opinion, just wrong.
