Tonight, I have spent more time on Saints Talk than I ever have. I thinks after tonight, I will not be back. I associate it with a plethora of pain and anger and terrible things.

Oh, you're not even at the point where you sit and cry for an hour in the corner. I clear my schedule on sunday evenings.

Hello, my name is chip207 and I'm a Saints fan. this Saints problem, I have has caused great pain to myself and the others around me. My problem never really hurt anyone until I actually believed we could win. I miss Bum Phillips, George Rogers and a 53 yr old Ken Stabler, you never thought they would win, just as long as we won a couple and beat the Rams and Falcons all was good.

Take it easy on yourself. Remember, the Saints wasted a first round pick on a punter, Erxleben. Who was recently released from prison after a stint for securities fraud. This is not all your fault. The organization has been enabling you for years. One day at a time.

Hey, guys. I too am a Saints fan. I try and try to quit, I even managed to do it for four games at a time..but they they go on a winning streak and suck me back in....I know I should quit...the 20 yard missed fg's, all the blown leads, the 3rd and 17 yard completions, ....always missing the playoffs by one game. I need help......bad.

So true, so tue... Some of you are really hitting it home tonight.
As soon as you feel free of that hold... someone like a Drew Brees comes along and you truly feel like this is a different team. This is our year.

Hello, I'm DirtyDovaTiger. I've been a Saints fan since 1967. What's depressing to me is that I actually expect results like tonight, and they never fail to deliver on those expectations. I'm a glass half-empty guy largely because of the Saints.

Erxleben was also a kicker as well. In fact, he was drafted more for his kicking. He was a tremendous kicker in college and could kick 60+ yarders with ease. The problem was that he was able to use a tee in college, and when he got to the pros and couldn't use the 2" tee, he was useless.
Someone from the Saints should have made sure he could kick it without the 2" tee.
ETA: I'm not sure, but I think that kickers were allowed to use 1" tees in the NFL when Erxleben came into the league, but even that wasn't good enough for Russell.

reinforcing my argument that the Saints front office is like big tobacco when it comes to our addictions.

Rusell Exk-Slay-Ben gave me a permanent scar over my eye eight stiches when I was 12. He missed a 29 yard FG against the Falcons and I rammed my head into a wall and busted my head.....true story

I did the same thing when Browndyke missed against Ole Miss. My parents sent me to a therapist. There is no cure, by the way.

I was at that game, in middle of LSU parents section. My brother played at LSU, I went to Ole Miss. BrownDicks cousin was a Frat brother. I remember that kick well

My addiction started at a much younger age. My mom saw where thing were going when I was 7 and bought me a foam "Saints" brick to throw at the TV/radio so that I didn't hurt myself or destroy her house. Imagine a six year old cursing Edd Hargett.

My addiction worsened when I was "experimenting" with the Saints, when we became the first team to lose to the expansion Bucs. That first taste for me was it. I was hooked.

My foam brick was in at least 10 pieces by that point. And, yes, I had my own personalized Aint's Schwegmann's bag.

I have both a "Luv Ya Bum" t-shirt and a "Mora for Governor" t-shirt.
I am in deep my friend.

Hi Guys. My name is Michael and I'm a Saints fan. I've been a Saints fan ever since about 5 years old, so its going on about 17 years now.
I know that what I'm doing is not good for my health or my emotional well being. I know that it hurts my family and friends to be around me when I'm watching the Saints but I just can't seem to help it. Every time they get a lead late in the game or have the ball in scoring range to win with less then 2 minutes on the clock, I can't help but think they're going to win. I think I've got my thoughts and emotions under control yet time and again they blow the game and I'm left an emotional wreck. My Saints fandom costs me lots of money on Saints gear and paraphernalia and beer for gameday, and it takes precious time away from my friends, family, and schoolwork when I'm watching, reading about, or otherwise concerning myself with them.
It sometimes causes to me to act out uncontrollably in anger and to sometimes break down crying at random times. And yes I admit, sometimes I actually listen to the Saints while I'm driving, endangering myself and other drivers on the road.

Hello, my name is Tim and I'm a Saints fan going on 20 yrs. I follow them because their my home state team. I made fun several of my friends who are Cowboys fans...their reason for being fans of "the boys" is because they say the Saints always let you down. SO TRUE. The missed field goal after an amazing band is on the field moment is a perfect example, just heartbreaking.
Saints....masters of pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. The players change but the culture of losing stays the Same.
Thank The Lord for the LSU Tigas.
Imagine how Cubs fans feel. Guess there's always someone who has it worse off huh.
My name is Tim and I'm still a Saints fan
