The attorneys aren't that great. This is evidenced by their gmail email accounts and that they filed int he Eastern District "New Orleans Division".

Season ticket holders were purchasing a product. After they paid for their tickets, the NFL changed the product they were purchasing. Not only was it changed, but it appears it was changed for questionable reasons. The NFL could have made these decisions prior to the purchasing of the season tickets since the penalties appear to be issued for actions allegedly conducted in 2009. It sounds like there is a case to go before a judge.
Well first of all, you can file any suit you want. As long as you pay the fee, you could sue me because you don't like my haircut. That doesn't mean a court has to hear the case.
If you've worked on class action suits then you know that for a case to go forward the complainant must have standing to sue, which is to say they must have suffered damages. The people in your river dust case obviously suffered damages, the case was to prove if the people they sued were to blame.
In this case, Saints fans have not been damaged in a way that the courts would consider gives them standing to sue. The NFL did not change the product they bought. They bought the right to sit in a seat for 8 home football games. That's it. Neither the NFL nor the Saints are required, by the contract of the ticket sale, to put specific players or coaches on the field. As long as a game is played and you are allowed to sit in the seat you purchased, the contract has been fulfilled and you have not suffered damages.
To take your argument to a silly extreme, you are saying I have the right to sue the Lakers every time I pay to see a game and Kobe Bryant is forced to sit due to injury. Or, even sillier, if this lawsuit went forward, Teams would be prohibited from making trades after season ticket money was due for fear that some group of fans might not want a given player traded, resulting in legal exposure for the team that trades a popular player.

This is my favorite line from the suit
Aw hell, who gets to decide if this standard has been met!? there are people on this site who think we ought to get rid of Drew Brees so we have more money to spend on Defense.

No, I'm saying you have the right to sue the Lakers for anything you want.
I'm also going to say that an unexpected, uncontrollable injury is not comparable to a unsubstantiated, premeditated suspension.

There's a reason why leagues review trades for fairness. It would be to conserve their product.
It's not about whether the fans like it or not. It's about the process

I'd say a organization that has a non-compromised goal of winning; and that is forced to change the decisions it would have made otherwise to the detriment of this goal.

Just saw this thread. Unbelievable. As if New Orleans didn't look bad enough to the rest of the country already.

Well, again Pendulum, buying a ticket to a Saints game doesn't entitle you to any of that. It entitles you to sit in a seat and watch a game. Period. Everyone who bought a season ticket was afforded the opportunity to sit in a seat and watch a game, which was in fact played. Therefore, no damages.
The ticket does not entitle you to see a specific player, coach, or game outcome.

Not my argument. Agree with everything you say. No standing, no duty, etc. I was just punting out the attorneys using gmail, getting the caption wrong and calling it New Orleans division. Instant loss of credibility, without even getting to the actual legal issues.

I seriously disagree with the lawsuit;
I just like to debate things.
I just pick a side and argue; don't care what side
I do believe this suit isn't quite as ridiculous as it seems. The idea behind it anyway. Not necessarily these jokers.

I understand the premise of the lawsuit and the idea behind it; but I think people are being ridiculous.

I'm not reading this thread. This is one of the stupidest things i have ever heard. I mean it's really ridiculous. I'm extremely disappointed.

Suffice it to say, if another team's fans were doing this, I'd be none too respectful whilst discussing it.

This. We'd all be laughing at Falcons fans if they did some dumb shite like this. What a fricking stupid idea by this group of fans, and it makes other Saints fans look stupid in the process.

I think it's great as long as they aren't expecting to win any money.
Just from a policy standpoint why would a federal court want to open up this bag of worms. Next you'll have idiot LSU fans suing Les Miles for kicking HB off the team

Also, you're an idiot if you don't think losing Payton has impacted the Saints. You've posted that exact same bullshite before, but never came back after it
?? I do believe losing your head coach 100% impacts the outcome of games/y'alls record. This is why I've been saying I think the Saints are doomed this year to a mediocre record at best. But what does that have to do with the FANS of a game suing Goodell? The NFL/NO is still putting a product on the field. It may not be as good as people expected but if that's the criteria - you guys can get behind the Browns or the Bengals in terms of lawsuits!

Well, their FO is just stupid. I guess no one ever thought of suing for stupidity.

You can post them on TicketMaster for whatever price you want (actually I think there is a limit of like 10k), but TM takes a small cut of it.

This. Show me where you have the guaranteed right to sell your ticket for a certain price at or above that of last season? Actually, I have yet to see one legitimate argument for damages.
I was hoping not to get sucked into this stupidity. But down the rabbit hole we go.
ETA: Seriously, this law suit just makes me sick. It's too dumb to even laugh at.
