I'd prefer Waggaman next to Cornerstone Chemicals. Thats prime real estate.

The outside of the dome is old not the inside which is about 5yrs old.

Superdome is in perfect location. Dome needs to be upgraded.
When is the last time you have been to the Dome?

It was meant to be a joke.

Until it's just obsolete and putting more money into it is just a literal waste of money, it's not going anywhere. The city of New Orleans doesn't have any money to build a new one, the state isn't gonna foot the bill, and whomever buys the team isn't exactly going to want to spend more money after buying the team. The only thing that would possibly help is if Gayle leaves money from her estate.

This. The Dome is in the perfect location now and has shown that it can be easily updated to meet the times.
I went to the Sugar Bowl and sat in the loge club for the first time since completing renovations. Not only is the dome historical from all the big time events and memories it has provided, but it felt like a brand new building. I was blown away.
The dome does not need replacing. Back in 2001/2002 when Benson was pushing for a new stadium, Dave Dixon cleared the air on the news and said the building has so much available space to do all what he is wanting to do.
Over the next two decades, that is exactly what happened with upgrades. The man is a legend.
Likewise, let's say Benson got his way and his new stadium back in 2002. The design was essentially similar to the Titans current stadium. Oh that's right the Titans are already building a new stadium. Furthermore, it was an open air stadium. Remember the brutal UCLA game last year? That would have been the stadium experience at noon on Sunday. I am still amazed that he wanted an open air stadium.
The dome has charm and history. I would say the next round of upgrades would deal with the exterior aesthetic leading to the dome. The parking garage surrounding it is an eyesore. There must be ways to integrate parking with greenspace/vending.
That and those multicolor seats. I am still amazed that those seats have survived renovation after renovation. Those seats are over 30 years old. The first set was replaced after only 18 years.
