For 3-4 summers straight I swam, played on 2 baseball teams, and 2 basketball teams and it was some of the most fun of my life.

Admittedly, both the baseball and basketball "teams" were just the same team playing in two leagues each so we got to play a lot more games so it probably wasn't as rigorous as 4 independent teams would be.

Coppell, TX AAU summer basketball getting to go out every weekend and play 2-3 games was an absolute blast, even when we played the "real" AAU squads that would blow our doors off.

Even swimming I think has offseason stuff at places like Crawfish Aquatics.

Compettive swimming, like all individual sports, has no offseason at all.

Give him every opportunity you can. Sports teach kids so many things. Plus he will eventually pick one or maybe two. Then you can have your life back lmao

I'm actually pretty surprised that so many people actually think 2 sports is even worth worrying. I guess my thought is skewed because my best friend in elementary school did karate, tennis, golf, football, baseball, swimming, basketball, regularly. As he got older he began having to choose which ones to keep doing. He was always really busy, and they had a nanny to help with all of the travel. His dad managed a country club.

And 90% of his free time was spent getting friends to come play more sports in his yard. He lived for it. He turned out all right, never got into much trouble, etc. Didn't make it past high school in anything, though.

This is more of a time issue...I guess what would make it work is that it would be during summer so he wouldnt have homework to worry about...leaning towards doing it as of now.

Kids should play as many sports as they can. Getting "trapped" into 1 or 2 sports at a young age is sad.

we would be looking at 2 games/1 practice a week for baseball and 1 game/1 practice a week for basketball. Saturdays would be baseball practice then basketball game.

my 6 year old little girl has more on her plate than that weak arse schedule.

Agree. We let our kids only do 1 sport at time. It is hell with the amount of practices, games, and driving. Add in 1-2 hours of homework a night
