I said it before, the Outer Banks are very vulnerable.
There will be horrendous damage done along that entire chain of islands and coastal barriers.

Birds!

Two different radar images of Arthur, one on the right is picking up birds.

ETA: I have no way to prove that those are birds and am just taking others word for it

Man if this had been just 50-100 miles east it could've strengthened to cat 3..

interesting fact.. the last time we had a cat 2 or higher make landfall in the US was 2008..

Plus the fact Arthur just formed into a tropical depression and was first noted by the NHC just 3 days ago.

Woke up around 2:30 thinking my husband was tossing and turning because our bed was moving. Nope, just the hurricane winds shaking the house. Wish I could see the beach right now but of course it's pitch black outside.

As far as hurricanes go, the left to lower left park of the eye wall, how is that intensity wise? Weakest part of the eye? I know dry air had been affecting the western portion of the storm.

The eastern part of the eye wall is always the strongest and wettest. The western side is not as strong but can still pack a punch.

ETA: interesting scanner feed for hatteras, nc. Using 5-0 radio app.
