Who is saying he got ripped off?

Wasn't replying to you specifically.

I completely understand. Here's a reminder of what you started with..
Nobody overpays like this is my point. You're about 10,000 off OR MORE on what that truck could be bought for, granted it is loaded out.. I'm talking about actual deals, not a BB price.. Nobody on this side of planet meth would pay $5000 less than STICKER for a 2 y.o. truck with 40,000 miles on the ticker.

he got it for 5K less than a new one and it only had 40K miles on it

People come to this board looking for advice and there are always people announcing these deals that they get that seem far from the norm, if not impossible.
I'm just trying to help people understand the advantages of buying new or buying used
People always say used is better, but it's not always the case at all

Sticker on that truck was probably 43-44 24.5 is half of that right?
It's damn close to half, and it damn sure isn't 5000 less than sticker..

I hear ya.
People also need to understand vehicle prices vary greatly depending on where you are in the country. A $25k truck in LA is easily mid-30s up North.

Not sure on the 2010s. I can tell you the sticker on my 2012 FX2 was 43, and I don't have sunroof or nav.

Not by my math

Someone bought that truck new for about 33 most likely
You paid 24,500 for it. It's far from a bad deal but it didn't depreciate 50% buddy

I had a loaded 2010 lariat that stickered for 47,xxx
No nav on an fx4 probably knocked 3-4k off

You need to learn how to read then. He said $5,000 less than he paid, not sticker.
For example, my truck stickered at $43k, but I bought it brand new for $29k. You aren't getting a 2 year old copy of my truck for $14,500, or anywhere close to it.
You are the one that claimed you could buy a 2 year old 40k mile FX4 for half the sticker price, except you can't even do that. Then you claim that sticker isn't what people actually pay, and you don't seem to realize that makes the case for buying used even worse.

If he is being honest about his deal, it was a damned good deal
I'll give him that
I'll give him that

I guess that would come out to around 33,000 too then? No way your truck could be bought at 45 and a same year FX4 loaded cost more than 10,000 less like you imposed earlier.. Come on, man..
There's nothing wrong with buying brand new vehicles if you enjoy them. I never implied that. Just use that for justification because $$ wise the above math isn't working..

how did you get such a deal on your truck?

It does make a case for the equity of the purchase though..

I'm not following the point you're trying to make at all, and I don't think you are either.

Went to a high volume dealer in Houston, and that was it. They advertise the price, you just have to be willing to go get it.

what part of sticker =/= purchase price do you fail to grasp?
