Tell ChatGPT or whatever AI chatbox you use the exact model and ask it how to do whatever it is you want to do and it will give you step by step directions.

All my research says get a Bambu printer because it’s best plug and play. Makerworld is the website that has pretty much all the files you want to print.
Another poster said it and I’ll second it. The Elegoo Carbon seems to be a replica of the Bambu equivalent, but the software isn’t the same. Plenty of good YouTube videos to walk you through either printer.
I bought the Elegoo for my son that’s 7, and very happy with it so far. Your kid likely won’t know the difference between the two brands, because they only care about the end product. It comes down to what you want you put into it.
$100-$200 or even $500 doesn’t necessarily make a better end product, it comes down to how much effort you want to put into it.
I like to figure things out so I went the Elegoo route and took the difference in price to buy more filament. My son has waken up everyday and won’t go to sleep because he wants to see what is printing. He doesn’t care what it is, just that something is printing.
Good luck with whatever you choose, but it’s worth it because your kid will love it. Don’t know how old you are but I remember when we got the internet and a color printer at home and it was all I was obsessed about once we got it. Your kid will feel the same way.

Buy a basic model and let him learn it and if he uses it and actually starts to make things that require a better grade filament then think of upgrades.

My son found one on the side of the street a few weeks ago when he was dog walking. He asked if he could bring it home and I said okay but it was raining hard so I told him if it is still there next week we can take it. Unfortunately, it was still there so I grabbed it for him. I set it up in the garage and it worked. We printed out about five things that were pretty cool and now I am ready to put it back out on the street so someone else can screw around with it. I would give you my address but I live in California.

Bambu Lab is absolutely the Apple of 3D printing.
Unfortunately, by the time this thread came up and our son declared he wanted one, the A1 Mini was the only thing we could get in time for Christmas.
I was a bit disappointed- but today, Oh man, this thing is awesome! How can something so nice be so cheap?
l started my career when 3D printing just came out. This thing is as capable as the first ones, if not better, for hundreds of thousands of dollars? less.
My 13 year old had it up and running in about 30 minutes- assembly included.
You can run it all through your phone, and Bambu Lab has TONS of projects. Much greater than any other brand we looked at.
Note- it appears to be able to use any brand filament- my wife ordered ELEGOO filament, I was worried it wasn’t right, but it’s working just fine.
10/10 would reccomend and do again.
