Brown did make a statement

You mean the scrubbing the university president didn’t know anything about when questioned.
Are we certain we are talking about the exact same actions? The official university website wasn’t the only online presence that was alleged to have gone removed info or have gone dark. Brown’s website was public with nothing shared by anyone doxxing any info Brown had not had online publicly for a while. Statement was pretty vague on what was done or even who took the protections from doxxing.
More of the follow statement from the university that I could find at providence journal with the journal’s addition defining doxxing.
Was the first person of interest that they tracked down, detained, and questioned also a student? I know someone interviewed said he was and living in a hotel, but I never saw if that was officially confirmed.

It was pointed out that they did in fact make a statement about this very thing
