That's what's sad. In case after sad case their pit is exactly what they think they are... right up to the point they're not. But then it's too late.

No... only poor trashy pits attack the poor trashy kids and elderly people who breed them to fight.
You realize that there is probably a dozen different animals that people are calling pit bulls right? Also when there are dogs that are literally trained to be put in a cage to fight other dogs and then inbred with it's sister that has lived on a 5' chain for the last 3 years, I'd agree the puppies may have a predisposition to having a hostile demeanor and given their size and strength the dog would need to have a responsible owner that recognizes all this and will take necessary steps. Not that the dog recognizes social statuses and non-trash vs trash, you implying that anyone is talking about that makes you look stupid.

are you saying a dog bred with the specific purpose to kill other animals is not be more dangerous than a dog bred to gently hold a quail in its mouth or sit in your lap and not bite you?
I'm saying that they have tons of research showing that pit bulls are not more aggressive than other dog breeds. You're the one just stating your opinion, when I'm bringing facts.

Just not trashy enough to put a pit around my family
I draw the line somewhere

Pit Bulls simply shouldn't be pets, especially if you have children around. If you want a Pit... just because, fine, but keep them the frick away from children.

You're the one trying to claim only pits owned by poor, ignorant white or black trash, chained to trees and taught to fight are the one's who attack. I was mocking your absurd and thoroughly dispelled claim...

...and then you double down on thgat claim.

What about the research showing they kill more people annual than all other breeds combined? Just ignore that research? "Those are not the dogs you're looking for"? *waves hand in Jedi-like motion* Is that it?

I have owned pits for a long time. I have bred them, trained them, shown them, and raised them in my home. My dogs have been socialized and raised with cats and dachshunds. I have not had any problems. Yes, something could happen. I don't let my 5 yr old or 1 yr old around the pits. Not because I am afraid that something will happen, but because I know what could happen. So, I minimized the risk to nill by not havingmy young kids around them. This is called responsible ownership. My 16 yr old was attacked by a lab when he was 6 yrs old. The lab was old and my brother was baby sitting. My son happened to step on the dogs tail. The dog bit him in the head, catching his eye. Luckily my brother grabbed him and got him away. You have to be responsible. All this sensationalism about banning them, killing them all, and the owners being certain types of people is just unwarranted. Like I said earlier, most people with kids have put them in harms way by needlessly putting them in vehicles when drunk drivers are on the road.

Perhaps it's all the incidents of the "family" pitbull that had always been "sweet" that suddenly one days snaps and kills someone.
Hook line sinker
But keep repeating the talking points of "loving family pet that just snaps out of the blue because it's in there DNA to do so, you will never know when fido will just wake up and want to kill you, we must eliminate the breed"
You should go ahead and send a check to ELIMINATEtheKillerDogs.org

So all pits are bred to kill? But you wanna call other people ignorant.

some things don't need research papers to be obviously true, though I'm sure one could easily be written up to make my point as I'm equally certain some doctor somewhere will minimize the danger of pits....
So science proves nothing?
You must believe the earth is flat.

But trashy enough to ride around in a car with them.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head
Me taking my kids to church Sunday morning was trashy

You keep saying this like its the same thing. Just stop. My kids are in a vehicle every day. It is necessary to get them to school, daycare, shopping....etc. It is not necessary to own a deadly animal. Just stop trying to justify your ownership of that animal by comparing that with normal everyday activities.

quote:actually labs are just shitty pets. They are fricking neurotic for one. They require a lot of time. And last but the most annoying thing about labs is that they shed WAYYYYY to much to be considered a family household pet.
Those lab attacks must lead to so many deaths too

This post isn't directed at you Croacka....just needed to click somewhere.
I wonder what % of people say their pit was super gentle and sweet so that they don't look bad. I mean....who's gonna say their dog was a killing machine and they fricked up and let their kid go near it? Just a thought.

How is it they know it was a pit, but not if it was a male or female? The stats are very scientific. They base them off opinions. Ever notice how they say a pit-mix? The will rarely say a pit-lab mix. They will usually list only the dogs they are against.
I agree, but you and I both know there is no DNA analysis done on these dogs, so there is no way to prove they are 100% pit bulls, but a picture of the one responsible for this attack is posted. Do you not agree that the dog in question is at least part pit bull?
If we don't have DNA evidence then shouldn't we use what is available to us to try to form an opinion, or should we just pull the covers over our eyes and hide behind the fact that there is no possible way to confirm that the dogs responsible for all these attacks are in fact pit bulls.

Considering it isn't a necessity, yes it is. You have about a 1 in 100 chance of your child being killed in a car crash. You are very selfish to take that kind of chance with your childs life.
