A few friends played against DJ Fluker in a REC league game during his freshman year. Said he was throwing everyone's shots and was immovable .There were a couple other football guys on that team but Fluker killed them.

This isn't a playing an athlete story, but a cool story anyway. Was skiing in Colorado when I was 12. Parent's let me ski on my own. Was heading up a lift with a big guy. We got to talking, found out he was the center for the NY Jets in '69 when they won the SB. His name was John Schmitt. Also used to play pickup basketball at the rec with Dorsey. Played ping pong at broussard hall with brett bech and Jamie Howard.

I hit a home run off Russ Springer. It was the "shot heard across CENLA".

Played HS FB with David Boston, still keep in touch with him. Total waste of good talent, got too big to play WR and had some legal issues off the field. Wouldn't say he's famous NOW, but....

My friend's dad played Magic Johnson in a few pick up basketball games when Magic was HIV free at Michigan State in the 70's

Not sure if this counts, but it was pretty physical. I got into a heated argument with shaq and his girl hoopz, we were cursing at each other etc at the end of a football game and outside the stadium after the game, it ended in some pushing and shoving. The sheriff broke it up and then it ended with me choking one of his crew that kept talking after shaq and most of the crew walked off.

I'm sure we know each other. I went to high school with Theriot. One year older than him but only played summer ball

Most likely, I was year younger. Still say Woods was the most talented of the bunch.

Went to middle school at Holy Cross with Dominick Carter, who was a decent local boxer. He fought for some titles on ESPN a few times back in the day. We were taking a religion test in Sister Mary Grace's class, and he wa sitting behind me. He didn't just cheat off of me - he literally reached over, took my test off my desk, and copied my answers. I was sitting there with nothing on my desk for like 5 minutes. I made the decision not to protest.
ETA: Only team I was on in school was the chess team, so I had to stick to academic brushes with fame.

I don't have any particularly interesting stories, but my dad was a starter alongside Mark May in basketball and Football when he was in high-school. They were also work-out partners in the Summer. Apparently they were decently good friends.

I had to block Brady James for roughly 3 plays when I was a sophomore. Don't remember much about it, but I'd like to think he gave as good as he got. He was probably pretty sore the next day...yeah, he destroyed me. I'm not sure he even knew I was there. I was a rag doll. They dressed the starters at halftime and sent them home. West Monroe dressed like 100 dudes and the 8th graders were bigger than our seniors.

Lost 56-0 in 38 degrees with heavy rain.

I doubled off of Stan Humphries in a softball game in 2000. That's all I got.

Played homerun derby with Ed Reed and Jonathan Wells after our games at Jefferson Playground. They were known as Pumpkin and Thunder Cat. I didn't know Reeds real name until he was already in the NFL. Saw him when the Saints played the Ravens in preseason one year. I was very confused that Ed Reed knew who I was.
