I'm not sure since you left out the option of not reciting a pledge at all.

Look I understood your point of view from your very first posts. You think the Pledge of Allegiance is "weird" and you say what the school is doing is the "lack of indoctrination" even though they are removing the pledge and replacing it with some other new pledge to the global society. You apparently see this as the "lack of indoctrination" when in reality it's switching one type for another. When I was in school the pledge was taught as a love of country thing. I guess that's not cool in school anymore.

So those legal immigrants, who risk their lives and limbs in many cases, yet still manage to follow the laws, just randomly belong here after Pledging Allegiance in the Citizenship Ceremony?
People make the choice to become Pledged citizens everyday and are VERY proud to even have the chance to do so.
As stated previously, the kids are not forced to participate by law.
And as far "arbitrary entity" multiple generations of my family and millions of others gave their life and limb to establish this nation, it is hardly an arbitrary entity. This nation is a hard fought and won entity. The entity of this nation obviously continues to need defending, from within as much as without.

Guess I should’ve notified you before I created a hypothetical situation to further discussion in this thread

go ahead and pledge to the global society including Turkey, Russia, China, North Korea, Iran...Global is global, not global except this island here, that desert there, this mountain but not that plain...

Not sure why you're being a dick about it. I just asked you to clarify your hypothetical so I could give you an answer.

Fine. That’s what I’m getting at, is said Johnny allowed to not say the pledge at all or kneel or not recite the pledge to this new “school family, community, country and our global society” pledge, as he is THE Pledge of Allegience now

IDK what this school will do but they should called out and forced to explain themselves if they make the alternative pledge compulsory.

Classic lib prog filth position to censor dissenting views. Also unlike you, my internet cannot be defunded because I work for living and pay my own. You must be speaking from your own experience of living on public assistance.

A bit non sequitur, but definitely revealing. I definitely get where you are coming from now.

You don't know anything about me. I'm an alpha whiskey drinking baw that would bang your old lady and make her realize how much of a beta boy you are. Then i'd set up shop in your house after the divorce and have her bring me another whiskey on the rocks while watching the saints play. Come at me bro I'll shoot you the address of the sonic nearest my house.

quote:Honestly it's probably a ton more about appeasing the parents who complain about the pledge than anything, but believe what you want to.
You are really naive if you don't think this school admin wants to indoctrinate the hell out of these students - just in a different way
The pledge itself doesn't bother me, I've just always felt it was weird as a kid to say it every day. And yes by definition it is a form of indoctrination.
I'm not someone who would ever go out of his way to get rid of or change the pledge, but I see no reason to be outraged at its dismissal.
