I have been with USAA for 28 years. Insurance claims last year from Hurricane Michael and a recent automobile accident are about to send me to another insurance company. They have been beyond abysmal in both instances. Zero customer service, their supposed strength.

Geico screwed me over big time and cost me a lot of money. Will never use them again.

Been with USAA for 16 years and I have nothing bad to say about them.

Had Geico and never had an issue with them paid out no hassle.

All have a tendency to low ball the amount. I personally like to use shops that are not the "preferred" carrier shops and know how to work the supplements.

I used to work in insurance claims, albeit over 15 years ago. So maybe take this with a grain of salt. But in my experience dealing with claims department across the board, USAA was hands down the easiest to deal with. State Farm wasn't far behind.

Progressive and GEICO were middle of the pack.

Allstate was awful.
