Day 5 and crews still haven’t touched the cluster frick on old Hammond by Brentwood. Trees, cars and wires still in road. Pretty sure we’ll be the last to get power.

Saw the same thing. Gonna pass by in a little while and see how much progress they’re making. If a linesman tells me they’re working on it until it’s fixed I’m gonna head home and wait it out. If they tell me tomorrow morning I may grab a genny and run the house for one night. We’ll see.

Forgive my ignorance, what does it take to fix a substation/transmission line?

You would think an area as big as IEJT/Westminster/Pine Park would be among the first to get it. That area alone has to be thousands of customers.

Doesn't matter. Priorities are feeder lines going to hospitals, nursing homes, emergency responders, etc.

If you're tied in close enough to one of those, you might get lucky.

Then they'll do the rest of the feeders, starting at choke points, before they focus on any individual neighborhoods.

I wonder how big of an issue materials are.

As of last count, Entergy is reporting 14,500 poles, 17,400 spans of wire, and 3,200 transformers damaged or destroyed. You can have people to work but nothing to work with and that could be a real issue.

These have all been addressed at this point in the BR area.

Yeah, anything with any value in BR has power now.

Maybe temporarily. Doesn't mean they finished the repairs or tie-ins. They're cutting them back off as needed to work.

They cut off half of South BR a few hours ago.

Still out in my neighborhood off of Kenilworth. It doesn't seem like we had any damage in the neighborhood but we're still dark while everyone around us is getting back up.

My parents live in woodgate and currently had their power shut off about 3 hours ago. According to the outage map, it looks like they turned off highland between Kenilworth and Lee to fix Kenilworth. I imagine they’ll be done in the coming hours but who knows.

They may cut off something to work on something else but it’s not for anything you mentioned. Those issues have been addressed. And they won’t cut off a vital service until they know the service is prepared for the outage. Hospitals have likely refilled their diesel generators.

Some action happening now, Oak Hills folks.

Yay! Thanks for the update. I'm coming back home tomorrow night, so hopefully it will be on by then.

Right there with you. Haven’t been in my bed since Saturday night so I’m ready for it. I’ll keep you posted.

I feel good about them having all that equipment out there and feel like they wouldn’t haul it all off without putting it up. But my gut feelings haven’t been on-point the past few days. Exhibit A (below): this line was live for 14 hours! A neighbor talked to an entergy rep and when they heard the transformer humming it was turned back off.

Damn. I feel bad for yall with no pkwer still. We seemed to be the first in br to get power restored after the storm knocked it out. Went about 2 1/2 days. I believe the reason we got it so fast is bc we lived right across millerville, not 300 yards from target. They made sure to get that fricker back up and running and we are tied into the same line.

That's what temporary means.

I didn't say those places don't have power, I said the lines feeding them are a priority. Powered on doesn't mean works done.
