Chattanooga sounds like good place for you. Minor league baseball. Beautiful with tons of outdoor activities, also the advantages of a small city.

The "has kept its Southern culture" line intrigues me. Are you talking about preserving monuments/battlefields, etc. or just fat chicks wearing a "Southern XXX" tshirt"?

I would absolutely put Big Lake in there with SOME of the best fishing spots in the state. You left the "some" out of your quote.

unless you've had more success than me or anyone I know who grew up fishing Big Lake, I can think of at least 15 better places in just SELA
