I would think most of that kind of traffic should be coming from Dalrymple. It is a much more direct route than coming from the south side of campus.
The more senior members who still attend meetings, but don't live in the houses all live on the south side. Many of them live around Boyd, in Southgate Towers, or down at Lake Beau Pre and the complexes out by the river

Here's my reply from DOTD. Enjoy the joke.
Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for writing to us. This is the final piece of a project that was designed to improve safety and traffic flow on Burbank Drive. Other work done during the project included:
· Installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Burbank Drive and West Parker Boulevard including pedestrian signals
· Restriping Burbank Drive from a 4-lane roadway to a 5-lane roadway with a center turn lane
· Reconstructing the signal at Burbank Drive and Jennifer Jean Drive and adding pedestrian signals
· Clearing land at the corner of Burbank Drive and East Boyd Drive to improve sight distance and extending the sidewalk along Burbank
More like clearing the land for Sonic.
Installing the signal at West Parker and removing the signal at East Boyd will help traffic flow better on Burbank by giving extra spacing between signals. It will also improve safety by eliminating left turns from East Boyd onto Burbank. Drivers wanting to turn left onto Burbank will be forced to use the signals at West Parker and Jennifer Jean.
Since the project started, we have already seen an improvement in traffic flow and safety.
Thanks again for writing to us. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or comments.

Does not compute. Are there really that many of these?

I mean, that's all true. And that is the main goal. Improving traffic on the main road, not the side streets.

Dude tons of people access sorority row from south of campus. You were given your answer 3 times yet refuse to accept it?

When pledge classes are in the hundreds, they don't dwindle down that much by senior year. There are absolutely a lot of seniors who do not live in the house.

Thousand of upper class active sorority girls not living in the house?
I guess things have changed since I was in school.

This wouldn't be a problem if When in Rome lived in my pants instead of on Boyd.

Yea I don't think you realize how many people use those parking lots behind the houses every day. It's always packed. This will only be magnified with the big new lot by Lod cook on the old rec fields. Most students live off Burbank or toward the river down Brightside. W Parker is the main access for them

Yes, not to mention that there's a couple frats out that way too. Also, with Highland being a clusterf*&k at all times going through campus, the frat guys take Parker to get to the UREC and Sorority Row, which help them bypass the traffic on Highland to get to their frat houses.

anyone who thought that was going to happen are fricked in the head. one need only to sit and watch the corner of highland and boyd at rush hour. it says "NO LEFT TURN" but tons of people still turn there because they just DGAF.

The problem is not with Burbank. It was always 2 lanes in either direction. The problem is safe access from the side streets and the ability to get from point A to point B without having to drive around the block and get behind even more traffic.

Over a thousand sorority girls are coming in every year (around 100+ per pledge class). Each house can only hold a fraction of that. Some houses choose their residents by seniority, so these huge underclassmen pledge classes have to drive to meetings.

The lots for people that live there?
I'm only halfway serious, but come on now.

That's stupid. They could pass Parker and get to the CEBA lots using Milford. Or get to the north side by going to Nicholson.
When I was in school I avoided Parker like the plague. People need to learn alternate routes, and not rely on one road.
