Yeah we'll dip into the teens every 5 years or so. The coldest it got in 2014 in BR was 18 on January 30.

I remember the LSU lakes icing over at the shores and ducks sliding on the ice trying to land in the water.

West Feliciana parish

My truck said 8 degrees as I drove down Cat Island road going to my stand. I don't know if that was actual temp or what but it was colder or as cold as this system is supposed to be

The first of the bedtime models, the NAM, is getting into range. Ending on NYE.

It has a 1060 mb high sitting over the Canadian Rockies. That's exceptional to see. Corresponds to temps pushing -40 up near the core. Pretty crazy to see that over North America, even on a computer model.

Not so much worried about the GFS showing snow this far away. More or less looking to see if the Euro and Canadian continue to bring us a little moist shortwave in the heart of the cold Tuesday night into Wednesday. If that's going to be a thing, the GFS will eventually have it.

It's going to be 82 degrees in Punta Cana on January 1.

It could be worse. At least I won't be freezing my arse off in Toronto like my brother-in-law.

That's two in a row on the Euro bringing some snow. And the Canadian does too. That would be something.

I wish this rain would disappear. I can take cold, but cold and wet makes for a whole different level of misery.

I'm supposed to drive from Birmingham to New Orleans on New Years Eve night. Is that a bad idea?

No, you’ll just need a heater.
