You have to minimize risk on your kids. My neighbor at my old house got a pit bull so I didn't let my kid go over there anymore to play with theirs. They got butthurt but tough shite. I'm not upping my kids chance of death just because you think you're the fricking dog whisperer.

You can't argue against the numbers. You can talk about shitty owners, and how dirtbags are, for some reason, drawn to bull terriers. But in the end it doesn't matter. The breeds are responsible for far too many deaths.

I know you can say this about most breeds, but I still haven't really seen one good reason posted for owning one of these dogs.

Attractive nuisance and blood thirsty dogs that we bred to kill are pretty different

They're both considered attractive nuisance in most jurisdictions FWIW.

No.

I don't see a rabid dog as falling under that category. The end result might be the same, but I have never seen a dog enumerated as an attractive nuisance.

My cousin is a narcotics officer and has 2 service pits and one as a family pet. There. A good reason.

good for you. all it takes is 5 seconds. their kids aren't the ones that's an outsider to their family pit. One game of horse play and dog rips your kids face off.

Loyalty, protection, companionship, hunting, entertainment, or guarding a home.

The same reason anyone owns other dogs.

Other dogs could do the job. And not kill 6 year olds.

I guess I meant a good reason that made a pit a better choice over other breeds

Sure any dog can be loyal and a companion, but why a pit over another

I just prefer to mitigate any risk of owning one and what it's capable of

My golden retriever wouldn't do this shite. Not much of a damn guard dog then, is he?

Yeah butt wipe. He identified this six year old boy as a threat to himself and his owners and killed a child.

Other dogs are also capable of killing 6 year olds.. What's your point?

Also, you won't see his dogs in the news for killing a 6 year old. Stop blaming the dogs for an irresponsible owner.

How many 6 yr old children do you think can comprehend the meaning of that word or the possible repercussions of it?

If only there were older people around supervising the child until they could

Am I the only one that played outside when I was 6? Without my mom holding my hand?

This breed has killed children it was raised with in a loving environment many times. Dog gets the blame here.
