I don't think they serve meat on a Friday.

STM alum checking in... If I were enrolling a child soon I would go St Jude. Got some family there now and they seem to like it. The church community is great there. Very laid back and I know of several families from Ascension Parish area that send their kids there.
The culture of St Jude is much less uppity and self-important than either SGS of SAS IMO...

Ha, yeah I'm aware of the dominance of SGS in sports (although STM had y'all when I was there). I'm also familiar with each campus.
I'm looking for more insight as to how the 3 compare in costs. What the faculty is like. What the pastor is like. For instance, we had a friend marrying a non-catholic out of state but they lived here. So they went to SAS to have their meetings with the priest and the priest (not father Than, it was the first guy they had with Than when he started there. Young, fatter guy who's not there anymore) made the bride very upset.

We owned everybody is sports...except MBS who had a beast at running back. St. George was our big rival though.

SGS was $3400/year/kid for us this year

Where at? STM was the only school even close to us, but all the kids in my grade were almost a year older.

But don't you have to donate to the church to in time and money? How much did that run you?

How old is your kid(s)? Also, on a scale of 1-5, could you give me how much emphasis you put on each of the following:
Education
Class Size
Tuition Cost
Athletics
Travel Distance
Church Experience
Involvement in Parish Activities

"Pastor" is the term for the parish priest. Still a priest but since he's in charge of a parish he is the pastor.

Location. It would be the longest drive for us possible. No easy route to take from St. Gabriel.
Join St John in Pville on hwy 73 by I-10, send kid there and then STA for 4th-8th off 44 in gonzales. Save yourself over $1k a year per kid. They have to compete with good public schools out there.

SAS students were the hipster kids in HS/college. Smart kids, but just kinda weird.

What about considering a normal private school?

I went to Holy Ghost in Hammond ages ago. As in grad 8th in '98 ages ago. I will tell ya from my sports experience... St Jude was the least stuck up. However, a friend of mine lived a block away from SAS so most nights we would walk to their playground and hangout. Met the priest there and he was awesome. I doubt he is still there now, and things could have long changed... But St Jude would be 1st, SAS second, and st George last. I hated their parents and such.

Damn. We were all jocks when I was there. Had a team a and team b in basketball...usually would come in first and second in tournaments. We beat a team by 80 pts
