That dude is a racists piece of shite. I’m glad he’s resigning and I’ll be happy if they force him out before then. I’ll pray for him though.

That’s obvious and to be expected considering who hired him however.

I’d sidestep some of it by just dissolving BRPD and expanding EBRSO’s operations, with funding and staffing to match.

I can’t help but wonder whether Sid wants anything to do with policing inner-city BR.

As long as BRPD is around, EBRSO is basically above reproach. Imagine how bad they would have to frick up to become the target of criticism when they have this shite show next door.

Just because they were “chosen” or “elected” by those groups/organizations does not mean they CAN’T have ties to the union. People know people from jobs, church, schools, sports their kids play together, etc. C’mon.

Basically went over events that led to arrests

WAFB

Also

The chief also addressed criticism he received for heated statements he made earlier this week at a meeting of the East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council. The statements have led to three metro council members calling for him to either resign or be terminated.
“I do not apologize for standing up for what is right,” Chief Paul said Friday morning. “Although my passion might have offended some, that was not my intention.”
Paul announced earlier this year that he will leave the department in November.

EBR-Mayor President Sharon Weston Broome said Friday there are no plans for Paul to leave the department any sooner.

Context, dickhead.

What cases were the council refusing to fund? Were they ones where there was no fricking chance BRPD could win, such as Lake and Salamoni being fired after being cleared on the Sterling case?

This is my fricking shocked face. He is her hand picked choice and she doesn’t want him out before her next sock puppet is ready.

Who are the ones that have police union ties? You need 3 votes to decide any board decision, so who are the three that the council put on the board with direct union ties??

Here are the three that are “APPOINTED”:

Is it the Southern selection, Press Robinson? The one who sits on Together Baton Rouge’s executive board? Surely you aren’t suggesting that Together Baton Rouge is a pro police union outfit

Is it the chairman of the civil service board, Brandon Williams, who is the mayor’s selections? The same Brandon Williams who is a fraternity brother of Murphy Paul and one the police Union sued in an effort to have removed because of all his felony arrests? You aren’t suggesting that he is a union plant are you?

Or are you suggesting that it’s Sharon Lewis, LSU’s appointee, who the police Union also sued to have removed from the board? If you are suggesting her, then why was the Union trying to have her removed because she wasn’t suppose to be eligible to serve on the board?

Those 3 make the majority of the civil service board

Madman Paul accused the council of putting members on the board that have direct union ties in order to have his decisions overturned.

Which of those 3, who make up the majority of the board, have direct union ties?? Just give me one of the three

The other two board members ARE NOT appointees…they are ELECTED. So the council have 0% to do with those two members being on the board

You would think Madman Paul, after being police chief here for over 5 years and appearing before this board more than any other chief in recent memory, would have at least a basic understanding of the civil service board’s makeup. Instead, he prefers to publicly fling out unsubstantiated rumors and false “facts” quicker than his race card.

When Jill Craft is the opposing attorney, you already have your work cut out for you defending the firing. And Craft had a legit case to work with.
