Article 894 in 2008 and just went to Canada (after doing a bunch of research). Will provide sources later.

Most likely nothing will happen. They do not have access to your criminal record at Primary inspection (the guard shack you drive through) and are instructed not to ask about criminality unless they send you to secondary inspection. They can send you to secondary randomly either based on suspicion or in some cases randomly. If you're at secondary inspection they have access to the FBI criminal database.

If you have completed all aspects of your article 894 you are technically admissible, however you entry in the FBI database may not show it so have paperwork on you just in case.

Good to know. The 894 thing has always intrigued me in this case, because you plead guilty but its a deferred dismissal if I remember correctly.

So you were technically never convicted.

They have broad access to most criminal records databases maintained by the Federal Government due to a cooperative border agreement between the two countries.

If your conviction would should up in a criminal database, they know about it.

Fun fact: the Canadian government owns the entire maple syrup supply of the country.

It's time for us to take over our friends to the north once and for all.

Free Maple Syrup for everybody.
