Mine was a headache, then started to get some aches/pains in my knee and back. Then I had a slight fever that I would not even say was a fever.
I tested negative on Sunday after being exposed last Thursday. It wasn’t until Wednesday, 6 days after exposure that I came down with the vid.

COVID-19 most contagious in first 5 days of illness, study finds
Do what you want, but a missed Thanksgiving with your daughter is better than a hospital stay or funeral for your wife, in my humble opinion.
quote:
Led by researchers at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, the systematic review and meta-analysis included 98 studies on 7,997 patients infected with coronaviruses that cause COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-1), or Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV). Seventy-nine of the studies (81%) involved COVID-19 patients.
quote:
Eight studies that used respiratory samples from patients in their first week of illness successfully cultured live virus, but no live virus was found in any sample collected after 9 days after symptom onset, despite persistent high viral loads.
SARS-CoV-2 viral load peaked in the upper respiratory tract, believed to be the primary source of transmission, in the first 5 days after symptom onset. SARS-CoV-1 peaked at 10 to 14 days, and MERS-CoV peaked at 7 to 10 days, which the researchers said may be why COVID-19 spreads more quickly in the community and is more difficult to contain.

You’re correct. Your wife is a dumbass.

Your daughter should have been partying it up at the beginning of the semester. That way she would have caught it then and been done with it.

It's coronavirus, not the Plague. Lord people are still freaking out over the flu?

Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others
You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick.
The mask is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.
Everyone should wear a mask in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
Masks should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
Do NOT use a mask meant for a healthcare worker. Currently, surgical masks and N95 respirators are critical supplies that should be reserved for healthcare workers and other first responders.
Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others. The mask is not a substitute for social distancing.

I started feeling bad Friday morning. Will wait til Sunday to get tested. Slight fever also with muscle aches and fatigue. Can still smell and taste and have a decent appetite.

Information like this makes this board a must read for doctors everywhere.
It’s no more contagious as the flu.
You’re probably the type that wears a mask riding alone in your Prius.

Yep. The CDC is politics and their expertise is marginal at best.
I spoke with a friend earlier today, Dr. W. that gave me his opinions.
I understand you are a nurse and I would value your opinion, not the CDC’s.

My daughter is off at college. 2 of her roommates have tested positive on Thursday. The first had symptoms Monday and the other Wednesday.
My daughter tested negative yesterday and will get tested again tomorrow.
My wife and I disagree whether she should come home. Wife, no pics, has a heart condition which leads to my decision to have my daughter quarantine at school for 10 days, while my wife wants her home for Thanksgiving.
I refuse to use CDC or any main media source for information. What say the savants of the Lounge?
Gonna need pics of your daughter and her two roommates to properly diagnose their situation.

Thanksgiving can be celebrated whenever you want. Society is wrong. There aren't any magical dates. Get together worry free after a while would be my call.

That’s the quandary. I want her to quarantine and momma wants her baby home. FML

This thought process is mind boggling. And is part of the problem. Test test test just to be a frickin statistic
