The transportation of crawfish to TX hasn't caused a local decrease in supply in recent years. And absolutely none this season because nobody's catching enough to fill a truck or make it worth the price of fuel and trucking yet. Crawfish are sold there due to an oversupply here in LA and thank God them baws like their crawfish!
Last year some farms had to shut down early because buyers were only wanting to buy once or so per week due to a glut on the market. Big buyers control this game and the effects of their decisions trickle down by and large.
So far this season none of those industry tangibles are in play yet and I couldn't care less if someone who doesn't know what good fresh crawfish tastes like eats some stale inferior imported tailmeat.
