Universal’s wait times are wayyy overstated. If the wait time listed was under 30 mins, it was basically a walk on. If it said an hour, it was 30 mins or less. At least that was my experience a couple weeks ago. Disney wait times were fairly accurate or slightly overstated. I don’t think I’ve ever waited longer than the stated time, unless the ride went down. And in that case, they will give you a return ticket the equivalent of a fast pass.

Yeah the rule at Disney is 2/3rds of the listed time and half at Universal (with the exception of Shrek because of the social distancing nonsense in the auditorium). For MIB, Simpsons, and E.T., my walk from the entrance to the back of the line and my actual time on the ride were each longer than my actual waiting time.

They’ve all be replaced by rides based on movies I have not seen

Pretty much all of the rides are from their biggest IPs of the last 30 years. Have you really not seen any of the following:

Toy Story
Cars
Aladdin
Star Wars
Avatar
Frozen
Finding Nemo
PotC
Alice in Wonderland
Winnie the Pooh
Dumbo
A Bug’s Life

That’s 29 movies alone just released in the last 30 years from the ones listed above, not including the original Alice, Dumbo, or other WtP movies and countless television shows and shorts.

They have spiderman, Cap A, X-men represented and they haven't updated that area of the park in well over a decade.

Because they can’t, outside of The Hulk whom they have the rights to.

Eventually Universal and Warner Brothers will come to a deal allowing them to use their full catalog of DC characters for the Florida parks. The Harry Potter sections have been a boom to Universal. I’m hoping that when Epic Universe goes live, they go all in on DC area. They’ve announced it will have a Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts area, Nintendo area, Universal Monsters, and How to Train Your Dragon. With Shrek coming back and the Despicable Me franchise cementing itself as one of the most popular animated IPs, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a themed land too.

Foreigners

If you are going to let the presence of a few hundred fine arse South American women turn you off to going to a location then you have bigger issues to deal with.

I figured that it would better of Universal Orlando to sit on their Marvel rights, even if the terms keep IOA from updating to live action vs. comics, just to keep Disney from building another competitive park.
Harry Potter saved Universal (per management I spoke to several years ago). The amount of cash they pull in at a Butter-Beer kiosk is outrageous.
