I was just thinking the other day that some things change drastically and others seem to be frozen in time. The whole frat boy in a jeep thing (usually complete with baseball hat and hiking boots) has not changed one bit since the early 80s. Amazing.

I like to laugh at them, and since they cruise by 10 times it just gets even more fun.
Jeeps have always been cool...the 4 door mall crawlers all super douched out have a chance to hurt that brand image. IDGAF, either way.

You and Capt's Wafer are spot on. I might stick mine out if I'm on a long stretch, but I need to be able to hit the clutch in mine so I rarely just cruise with it sticking out. And the door peg footrests things are awful. The good thing about owning a Jeep is all the aftermarket. The bad thing about the aftermarket is they will come up with the most useless crap because they know someone will buy it.

Having doors on a jeep is a relatively new thing, started with the YJ models around 1992 I think. Before that some had the old canvas soft doors for use in the winter, most had none.

I don't think anyone hater is going to hate that pasty white leg with terrible shoes in a Chrysler.
I do the leg thing occasionally, but it's because real Jeeps' (CJs) floorboards get hot as crap and with the correct shorts on, it's heavenly. But it's a manual, so it's short lived usually.
