Grow up, get a real job, buy your own house, pay taxes, support a family and you'll realize.

Jesus, I feel like I'm talking to my 13 year old.

I think most people underestimate private school costs on this board. An extra $500-1000+/month/kid for 13 years is crazy.

Daycare is a little over 1k/month in NOLA too.

And if you had any idea how dumb 13 year old boys are you'd understand where I'm coming from.

I don't understand all the New Orleans hate going on here. I think it's a great place and any problems it has, every other major city in the country has. And I feel that my record reflects that.

It is expensive. Won't argue that. Everything is doable though.

I wouldn't go that far.

I'd be rolling in cash, if I was paying that.

That's just because you're not from New Orleans. Let me guess, went to Bourbon street that one time and now think you know the city?

Where is your favorite local place to hang out in the city?

For carpet baggers, sure.

How far outside of Nola can you live without being a carpetbagger? I know BR is apparently home to carpetbaggers, even though we do a decent amount of expert testimony on y'all's frickups.

Engineering has a decent job market in the GNO with the several chemical plants and refineries just outside of the city limits plus consulting firms servicing these plants and the upstream oil and gas sector. Nothing like the Houston market, but there's opportunities

Man I've lived here for 17 years now. It depends. I don't go down to the quarter much anymore but I really like LaBooze. Pretty much any dive bar in the quarter. I really like bayou beer garden, bulldog mid city. Tchop Yard, Fat Harry's, Monkey Hill, Henry's, Brothers II, Roberts, Cooter Browns. However I can walk into just about any bar and be as completely comfortable

This issue is important to me. I have a vested interest in this city. My parents have a house in the French quarter, for christs sake.
