Don't forget how bad FL was supposed to have it after they undid nearly all of their restrictions.

15k?
Dallas leads the NFL in attendance this season, they're still cleaning up all of the dead bodies outside of AT&T and putting them into Globe Life.

IDK didn't watch. BUt that seating capacity has to do with what the SEC put out right? Doesn't matter what Florida oks? I could be wrong. IDGAF anymore. This shite has ruined the school year for my kid and possibly her freshman year of college.

Why would the SEC be in charge of setting the attendance capacity for the College National Championship Game?

Because they are not factoring in why their cases are going up
Many people live together there...especially the Hispanic population. Easily can have multiple family members living in one small space. Many of them gathering together here in other homes. Many of them work jobs that they can’t work from home from.
So very easy for them to get sick and spread it around. And many of them very poor and won’t seek medical treatment until they get really sick from COVID and then it may be too late.
Then you have people that are just tired of it all and they are pissed and will do what they want and gather in large groups at home and increase spread that way.
I totally don’t agree with their tactics. They are just making people lose trust of their public health agencies and medical community and making them more and more angry and less likely to even want to follow basic measures
Again...I believe there is a middle ground and sadly many states have missed the mark on that. But...hopefully with vaccine this will be the last big surge you see in places.
We just opened up Cards stadium parking lot as a 24/7 vaccine site for our phase 1b people (teachers, law enforcement, day care workers, certain essential workers, 75 and over). First 7 hours open yesterday and 44k appointments made with 29k of those being people getting their first dose this week.
My friend is a teacher and got her first dose at 2 am this morning. Last I read they have already vaccinated over 1700 people at that site since opening at midnight.

To be fair, most people here aren't serious when they say they aren't masking up. And those that are, live in more rural areas and probably aren't out in public much.
It is rare I see someone defying the mask restrictions here in BR. As far as I can see around me, the public has listened.
In my experience, it seems like the people who are the most vocal about taking it seriously on social media/the internet don't actually behave any differently in person than everyone else.
My most covid-vocal friends have no problem meeting me at the bar and socializing the same as I am. For some reason, they view themselves as "safer" (their words) due to their Facebook posts and political views.. but they're not actually any more or less careful than anyone else there.
Generally speaking, most people have no desire to be up close to strangers. Most of us are the same level of careful because, simply, Americans value personal space. I mean, the most careful person in the world who works face to face with the general public in say a grocery store.. is probably more at risk than I am (who doesn't really think much about covid in my day to day actions) simply because I work 100% alone 5 days a week.

I get that. I realize I need some social activity as well. But really try to balance that and being safe. So only outdoor activities or outdoor patios and only with friends that I know are as careful as I am. But...I also have more at risk (my dad). So that’s a big factor. I can understand younger people with no frail family that depend on them will have a different perspective.

This is why I’m so glad the mask mandates are followed here strictly in stores. Cause my family still has to work in these stores and can’t work from home but also has to be careful not to bring COVID home to my dad. But I have them well trained. They know how important hand washing is. They know to keep distance from costumers (especially if it is some jackass not wearing a mask or not wearing it correctly). They realize it’s not just about wearing a mask.
