If you listen to the music, especially country, from those eras the 90s was definitely more upbeat and positive. It started trending toward the "woe is me" and "everything sucks" in the 00s and is now completely downbeat

Brah, country has ALWAYS been woe is me. It’s always had themes of loss- wives, dogs, jobs, the farm. Granted, the 90s did offer up some upbeat fun country music themes . But every era did. if you really believe what you posted, you’ve got an incredibly limited sampling of country
Music.

Past their prime pop singers into the 90s did not prance around on stage wearing strap on.
