Happened to me in July.
I got severance pay through October but it still sucked. I found a job 2 weeks later and started the job in August.
I make less $$$$ but I get a lot more time off. I was driving 20 minutes to work and now I drive 1 hr 15 minutes so I drive more and spend more $$$$ on gas.
Overall it's a wash but I do enjoy my time off.

Relax - I'm not blaming you personally for the screwy way the system is set up.

It is screwed up. I just am driven to make it better the best way I can. My sole role was/is to make that system work in spite of that while still making sure patients were ok. Patient first. The way healthcare should be. Just sucks that the financial burden a lot of times supersedes the original affliction. Healthcare should follow the patient until their financial responsibility is $0. I truly believe that
