"He was just trying to feed his kids"
The narrative will be that he was literally spoon feeding his child when a white cop walked up and shot him.
Protesters, "Feeding my baby, don't shoot me maybe?" or "Feed your kid, end up dead"

So this guy was fighting with a cop with a bottle of drugs in his pocket. Yeah, this white cop has just lost his mind
Were they explosive drugs? What do drugs have to do with anything? Shoot the guy if you have to, by all means. But what do drugs have to do with anything?

What the article didn't state was why was the LEO questioning this guy delivering food? It appears that he had food in his hands because it says that French fries were strewn across the porch.
It states that there was a loud music complaint but that that was cancelled.
It says that there was a burglary complaint and that they had a License Plate Number for someone's SUV who lived in the area. It doesn't say whether or not this guys SUV was that vehicle. If it wasn't, why was this guy being questioned?
The statements from this guys friend, who was apparently a witness to some of the incident, do not match up with the description of what the police chiefs statements said...who I'm assuming is going on what the officer said.

Hands up.. Don't shoot
Good motto, but it seems like the message is being directed to the wrong crowd.
It seems like if folks were putting their hands up, they wouldn't be getting shot.

Well, the only reason the cops were even there in the first place was because someone called about the SUV during the drug deal.

Actually I didn't. For someone that was untrusting of what was printed, I would assume you chose your words correctly.
This doesn't make sense with

You incorrectly stated facts while trying to be "that guy" that questions authority. The irony was not lost on me.
How do you know I was "trying to be "that guy" who questions authority" while somehow not knowing what I meant?
And what do you even mean by "being "that guy" who questions authority"? In a situation where the facts have yet to be established and one side of an issue is an authority figure, some degree of questioning authority (by way of not taking the authority figure's story as fact) is necessary to find the truth.
What are you pattern-matching my responses to? I don't understand where your hostility is coming from.

You looked stupid by using the wrong word. Let it go and move on.

Are you serious?
quote:
Shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were in the area of Interstate 17 and Greenway Road for a burglary investigation when a resident of an apartment complex told them that men inside a black Cadillac SUV were engaged in a drug deal, said Sgt. Trent Crump, a Phoenix police spokesman.
Police checked the license plate that the tipster provided and found it was registered to a resident in the 15,400 block of North 25th Avenue, where there was also a pending report of a "loud music disturbance."
The loud-music call was canceled, so the officer went to the SUV to ask questions of those inside, Crump said.
The officer said the driver, later identified as Brisbon, got out and appeared to be removing something from the rear of the SUV.

I don't agree with your assessment, sorry. People make mistakes, and I've acknowledged mine.
EDIT: Still waiting on what you pattern-matched me to. You didn't actually explain yourself in that response...

You didn't answer my question at all? Why, if this guys SUV wasn't the one that they were after, was this guy being questioned? He was carrying food. Its a simple question and to my mind, the answer would play a big role in determining the actions of the responding officer.

Because when the cop went to question him he took off running and proceeded to get into a scuffle. No one runs from the cops if they're just delivering McDonald's.

Can you not read?
A resident of the apartment reported that he and whoever was in the Escalade with him were dealing drugs.
The burglary stuff is irrelevant. The police did not randomly walk up to this guy. If you can read, you should be able to figure that out.

Where does it say that? I read the article and don't see where it says that!

The domestic war on drugs is so awesome.

Can you not read. It does not say that at all. You just made that up.

Yea, it's the law's fault this guy is dead.
I don't disagree with your sentiment about the war on drugs, but that's a different topic for a different thread.

Based solely off of the OP's link, this story is not nearly as egregious as Eric Garner. The timing of it sucks though.

How hard is it to put your hands up when the police tell you to? How hard is it to lay flat on the ground and place your hands behind your back?
No. Much better to fight the armed police officer.
Much better to reach into your pants or pockets..really fast.
The police have to choose who dies when they are confronted. Them or the suspect.
Who would you choose?
