Try and get to wrap and roll in pearland. Great food, very attentive staff. Portion sizes are immense!

Also hubcap grill/Christians tailgate for burgers.

For bbq, the pappas are pretty good. But Rudy’s is better. There is a place called pappas delta blues, and it is one of the best experiences ever. They have a pork belly that is beyond description.

There are so many good actual BBQ places here now and not just in the city. Pinkerton’s, Truth, Pit Room, Blood Bros, Corkscrew, Killen’s, Tejas Chocolate.

Suggesting Rudy’s is going to get you laughed out by any actual Texan. Might as well suggest Popeye’s for Cajun food

If you drive a Toyota truck or SUV, expect to have your catalytic converters stolen in Houston.

I’ve been on the Texas bbq trail, and I have frequented all the places that you mentioned. Pappas is not the best, and neither is Rudy’s. They are, however, everywhere and are immensely better than any “bbq” in Louisiana.

In all seriousness, have you tried the wrap and roll in pearland? If you want what I call a man vs food experience, get the special.

My uncle(no pics) brings strawberry pies from Houston when he visits us. You will not find a better strawberry pie.
