I honestly used to laugh at articles about people who suffered from burn out. I could never understand how someone could have job burn out. When it hit me, it was fast and I could not shake it. All of a sudden I reached a point where I could not decide simple things, like what to wear today, what I wanted to eat, what direction I wanted to go. It was really scary to go through it. I had a different perspective on individuals who just wanted to move away and not do anything or just wanted to teach inner city kids and not worry about anything.
When the burn out will hit you, believe me, you will know that it is there and there is nothing to reverse it.

I had a job at the same place for over 20 years. Started hating it. At 53 I started with a new company and it's the best thing I ever did. I am also in health care.

I gradually started me thinking about it . Then the next thing it's all I think about. Losing a couple of patients didn't help .
