They're not using the scientific method - they're abusing it - and with an agenda, the worst sort of "science".
The atmosphere is an extremely complex system. CO2 is a trace element, required for life to exist on this planet (at least life that we know of) - I don't know what the upper tolerance is, but I'd be much more worried about a collapse in CO2, because the plants need it desperately.
Having said that, I don't pretend that burning coal is good for us. I want it to be cleaner and more efficient. But we are NOT "heating up the planet" inadvertantly - and it is ludicrous once you see it written out, right - at least not in any appreciable way - certainly not more than a couple of tenths Celsius over hundreds of years now.
And I just don't feel inclined to starve a bunch of people to death and cripple the Western way of life to avoid that potential couple of tenths (that the Earth is going to self-regulate, anyway).

I'm going to but in here but here is the weakness of those that are "truthers". It may take a while to list similar sized hoaxes but to believe people whose incomes depend on the outcome of their findings is unimaginable to me.Just in your single post:
I'm a "senier" because so far the methodology is skewed toward the intended outcome. More importantly is the factors left out of the science. I'll follow that up with people of my age have observed. #1. None of the predictions made 10, 15 years and even more ago have come true. and #2 The scientists have been changing more recent predictions to match current conditions. The current batch of "scientists" point to an extreme weather condition, hot or cold/dry or wet and explain how our pollution caused it. After the fact we have caused everything but past false predictions are never addressed.
ETA #1: It is an easy and safe guess to assume a truther is a liberal.
ETA #2: Pointing out political involvement is no reason to move a topic to a board full of stuffed shirt assholes.

To say that the majority of the scientific community is in on a hoax is laughable.

Anyway, the questions weren't directed at you because you never claimed that the scientific theory is made up
It is made up
Go find the article written by the founder of Greenpeace. He wrote that the only evidence supporting AGW is computer models. And they only spit out the information that was programmed into them. And even they have been woefully inaccurate
He also essentially killed the movement when he stated that for plants to thrive, CO2 levels would need to be 4x higher that they are today. And had it not be for the increased CO2 levels, our planet would be dying, because it had gotten down to 280ppm. Without carbon dioxide above 150 parts per million, all plants would die.
We are currently at 400ppm

this isn't difficult.
burning coal and oil releases co2 into the atmosphere.
we also know that different gases absorb different wavelengths of light. specifically, co2 absorbs and redirects infrared light. this isn't climate science, this is physics.
climate deniers are no better than vaccine deniers. both are an embarrassment to modern science. i mean, you guys will praise nasa for putting a pseudo autonomous robot on Mars, yet when those same scientists and engineers start talking about climate science, you laugh in their face and call them lying propagandists? please.
if a geochemist or nasa engineer wanted to talk about climate science with a denier in this thread, they wouldn't be able to, because the denier simply wouldn't have the knowledge base to even survive for 10 seconds in the conversation.

But the amount of CO2 being produced hasn't gone down since the alarmism started in earnest.
And yet - warming has "paused" - despite all this CO2 emitting.
How can that be? Only that there are about 10,000 other variables, maybe?
Alarmists are no better than than the Y2Kers - ginning up a bunch of hysteria over literally nothing.

And the earth has been at several thousand PPM and life flourished then. Nobody is projecting it to go over 1,000 PPM. The idea that this is an emergency is laughable.

If they talked to a truther the truther simply wouldn't have the knowledge base to even survive for 10 seconds in the conversation either. That in no way is an indication that they don't have it all wrong in order to keep the bux coming their way.
Mark this denier as waiting for one of these genius's predictions to come true. Until then I'll remain "climate deniers are no better than vaccine deniers". You see if these "same scientists and engineers" could even have come close to getting predictions as right as these same "scientists and engineers" did when they put "a pseudo autonomous robot on Mars" we would already be in noticeably worse shape in this world. Since you can only call names and point to grant absorbing elitists to threaten us I'll consider your post as waste.

By making me despise Al Gore even more, knowing he got rich by fleecing the public over a fricking hoax.
