Give them a big hug when you want to do anything but... lol. Not saying teenage problems are solved with hugs, but sometimes they are so inside their own head that a simple gesture will put them back in the real world.
Thank you for your condolences.

Hug and tell them I love them everytime I see them. Of course this cannot be done in front of friends

First off, my heart goes out to the family and friends here. Suicide ruins the lives of everyone in its wake. We deal with far too many of them here on the Northshore for reasons unbeknownst to me. Mental illness is real and very bad.
That said, part of me would rather someone that has given up on life take their own life instead of going out by way of a mass shooting and hurting innocent people with their illness.

frick that motherfricker. Knowing his teenage daughter would be there alone to deal with that shite. frick him. I literally want to cry for that poor girl.

I can't really understand why a kid would do that other than self-esteem and bullying problems combined with depression. That kid didn't seem to have any problems related to that.
It's just odd to me because that never crossed my mind, or any of my friend's minds. Stress wasn't a big factor on life in high school

People say the dumbest things sometimes, but there is no appropriate or normal reaction to suicide.
I'm pretty sure I've said some really dumb things when someone has lost a loved one untimely for whatever reason, but I've gotten better or I hope I have. I've tried to read and educate myself in that regard. There's nothing I can say to undo the loss. Nothing I can say will take away the hurt. I simply want the person to know I care and I'm there.
