re: If you had to lose one of the five human senses, which would it be?

That question is a bit easy, most people would choose smell or taste. Let's change this a bit. If you are losing all of your senses and you can only keep 1, which one would it be and why?

well fricking would not be nearly as much fun without being able to feel.
I'd have a little sensor implanted in the brain to release the chemicals that make sex feel good.

Taste. As long as you had smell, you would still be able to taste some things even if you lost your sense of taste.

The obvious and correct answer is taste. Taste is mostly your sense of smell anyway, so if you lose your sense if taste insofar as it is a separate sense, you really aren't losing much at all, including your overall ability to taste.

Smell. I hardly have a sense of smell as it is, so I wouldn't miss it at all.
ETA: Sight if I could only keep one.

No way, smell is so intertwined with taste, you'd never enjoy a good meal again.
Hearing is the least critical, so I'd go with that even though it would suck not to hear music anymore.

Taste, I'd be a lot skinnier and healthier. Would suck to never taste any good food again and I love eating.

Hearing and it's not even close for me.
I'm deaf and I have a cochlear implant that makes me hear since I was born stone deaf. The other senses are irreplaceable and once you lose them, they're gone forever. You need to pick a sense that medical technology can replace, not something that you think is expendable.

Seeing dead people is one.
