Or, maybe smart enough not to bother with standing around listening to music like I could for Downtown Alive or rhythms on the river without the nauseating patchouli and wanna be ‘hippy’ hairy arm pits liberals.

That’s a festival?

We went yesterday evening. It seemed like we were one of the few wearing deodorant. Did see a little Acadian ambulance flat coming at us, on Jefferson, with a lady laid out in the back, with a guy holding up an IV bag. 20-30 minutes later, they came beeping at us on another street with the same lady and set up. Don’t know if they got lost, or what.

In the not too distant future, I can picture the festival being held at Moncus park with a $10 entry fee. Parking will be at Cajun field with shuttles driving people to the park.

Maybe that will cut down on the after hour shootings and policing efforts. Course the downtown development authority might object to them losing tax money

Never gonna happen. Not enough room and to much green space. Moncus Park is 100 acres and only has 2 designated entrances. Trees, lakes, and gardens make up 50% of the park. It has 1 amphitheater and room for possible 1 or 2 more stages.

Downtown FIL area encompasses 40 blocks and is approximately 120 acres. Huge area that is spread out enough with 4 stages and dozens of downtown vendors. Lots of parking within 4-5 blocks of the Festival area. Sadly crime is gonna happen and a product of our society. To deter crime and thugs, you bring in more security / police officers on every corner.

The Festival ended Saturday night at 11pm with police telling people to leave the stage areas and Parc San Souci. Jefferson street with bars stayed open til 2am. The “shots fired” happened at 1:45am near the Jefferson Street Pub.

I’m sure it was the usual suspects.

We left, rain was too much for the kids. Caught the last Rayo Bros show and a nice rock and by the Biergarten.

Good food, beer, and demographics. I enjoy a weekend without the fishing shirt / fat wife crowd.

We left around 3. Great jazz band had a dozen or so coeds dancing in the rain. Saw a shite ton of police all over the place. Definitely a heavy presence by LEO. Sorry it rained. Was a good time before the bottom fell out.

Went last night. Interesting to say the least. What happened to Lafayette’s Uber and Lyft options. Seemed like they had very few cars rolling.

The jazz band was great and good to see Julie Williams join the group.

ever since the Chinese flu, I’ve seen fewer and fewer Uber/Lyft drivers in town. Sadly, very few people have the work ethic to hustle and make good money during a busy weekend.

I thought Lafayette was a lesser town but nothing on br compares to festival international.
Made me wish I was hipster and had a Cajun girl on my arm
