I feel like I could make $20 a week look way better than that and be a frickton more nutritious than that. I agree with your point though that $20 can certainly feed you for a week.

I'm not even on a set grocery budget and I never exceed $65 for two people, and that includes pet treats and a case of soft drinks. Sometimes it is as low as $40. Granted, most of my meals depend on things I have already.

Well you gotta think. I’m accounting hunting/fishing as my main source of protein. That’s simply the random stuff you buy at the store

The $20 is strictly on fill up food. And fruit veggies you can’t grow yourself or are out of season

I am interested in seeing your $20 week list though. Remember it has to last the whole week. That’s the hard part

Punish is an intentional act. Neglected is the correct word for your position.

But it isn’t true. “Food insecurity” is a statistic designed to mislead. USDA defines food insecurity as being “uncertain of having, or unable to acquire, enough food to meet the needs of all their members because they had insufficient money or other resources for food.” USDA noted: “For most food-insecure households, the inadequacies were in the form of reduced quality and variety rather than insufficient quantity.”

So can I be considered food insecure because my wife buys fricking Sam's Choice brand instead of name brand items? "Oh, its the same thing, just cheaper" she says. No, it isn't.

The passive form is preferred in the following sentences because the agent is either unknown or unimportant.

Passive: My pocket has been picked.
Active: Somebody has picked my pocket.
Passive: I shall be obliged to go.
Active: Circumstances will oblige me to go.
Passive: Promises should be kept.
Active: One should keep one’s promises.

I think we just have to agree to disagree here.

I still disagree. Even using "neglect" like the way she used "punished" is saying it's the taxpayer that is neglecting the child instead of the parents.

My kid ate 3/4 of a personal pan pizza, said he was full, ate a cookie 20 min later, cried at bedtime 90 min later saying he was " too hungry to sleep"

I was on the free lunch program K-9 grade until I got a job and bought my own in high school. Many schools now offer free breakfast too, so go to school and feed your mind and body.

These statistics are similar to when politicians want to raise taxes (and legalize gambling, and initiate a state lottery), they claim its to help the elderly and education. Yet, somehow with all that money, and the money they pilfered from social security, it’s still not enough. Calling horse shite on this one. Have a nice night everybody.

My first thought is they should be taken from whoever is their care-giver.
There is NO good excuse for ANYONE to go hungry in America.

35% of kids are starving and 80% are obese.

Also, 82% of women are raped in college.

Liberals now like to harp about “food deserts” where “good” food is hard for poors to obtain Bc there are no nice groceries in their areas. Total nonsense.

Exactly the type of response I would expect from you. Pathetic.
