does indeed snow but be prepared for the blistering heat of a midwestern summer.
I used to spend summers there. Yeah, it can get hot, but I wouldn't exactly call it blistering if you are used to LA or TX summers.
Also it's almost directly in the middle of the US, not the Northeast. I'm not sure how some of you ever made it passed 3rd grade.

Dude, summer temps in the Midwest only get into the 80s? I'll take two of whatever you're on.
Edit: I guess everyone just thinks it's mild summers anywhere north of Louisiana?

One major incentive for me at least is it snows during the winter, and the summers only get to the mid 80's
It does indeed snow and can get cold as frick, but whoever told you the summers only get to the mid-80’s is fake news. I had at least one mild summer, and it’s certainly not as consistently hot as the South; but you’d have some very hot, humidish days.
I enjoyed the central location. It’s 3 hours from Chicago, <2 hours from Cincinnati and Louisville, 4ish hours from Nashville and St. Louis, etc. I did some exploring. Bourbon Trail was a hell of a time.

1. Its a giant suburb.
Family values.
2. Its not northeast.
Its Midwest. Northeast starts with northeastern Ohio. Yankee values. Indy was where Germans went.
Fwiw northeast doesn't include south jersey, southeastern pa. and Delaware. Weather is milder and the values are Quaker not new England Yankee.
The Yankees went to Cleveland, akron Ohio then Chicago.
3. Conservative.
4. Basketball is king.
5. Its downwind of the great lakes. Buy two or three pair of long underwear to start. This one gesture will change winter for you.

I've never been to Indianapolis or the north east in general. You won't like it
Its making a $10-$15 more than I am currently, That is a pretty significant difference if you are talking per hour and not per year.
but a contract to hire position. So, they will shite-can you in 11 months and you will be back to square 1
Anybody ever been to Indianapolis? How is it? Flat and square...but St. Elmo's is a pretty awesome steakhouse. Definitely get the shrimp cocktail. Oh...and it's full of freaking Yankees...as one would expect.

White River goes through Indy FYI; I think the stat you found is balogna.
Anyway, I’ve read good things about Indianapolis. Columbus seems to be in a similar position in terms of big rust belt state capitals that are booming currently.

I lived in Hebron Indiana ( north) when I was a young man for work ( 30 yrs ago). I can tell you those are some miserable fricks, they hate life. I would rather be stuck on an island with Zombies

Please take the job. Louisiana needs every bit of improvement we can get. This would help

Made a similar move four years ago to another "city" in Indiana. Honestly, I like the area and I like making more money but I really don't like 98% of the Hoosiers I've met.

No, its $10-$15 dollars more.
So just for reference you are saying that you make $10-15 more total throughout the year? As in if you are making $50k currently you will be making $50,015 with the new job?
Or are you saying that you are being paid currently $20 / hr and with the new job you are getting a $10-15 more an hr so you will be making between $30-35 / hr?

Can’t be worse than anywhere in La.
Posted on 7/19/18 at 7:56 am to Jonathann3891
I lived there for a while.....I’ll never go back.

Do you like shrimp cocktails and big steaks

I thought I said $10-$15 more an hour in my op.
$10-$15 more would put me between 115K and 125K a year. I work in the oil and gas industry.
