The first time I ever had a kidney stone, which was 3 or 4 years ago, I went to the doctor, not really sure what it was. It turned out to be kidney stones and I was prescribed something to break them up. I have heard horror stories about kidney stones, but fortunately, I guess they broke up and was really small because I passed them. I felt it, there was a trace of blood, but I wasn't in the pain I was in when I went to the doctor.
Fast forward a few months ago, I noticed something was off, side sort of hurting but it wasn't bad. The next day I passed one, same thing.. I felt it, there was a trace of blood, but it wasn't that bad. I have been extremely fortunate with that because like I said, I have heard horror stories.
A few years ago a friend of mine ended up in the ER. He had to call someone to come pick him up and drive him.. In 48 hrs he made 2 visits to the ER. He said he was in tears and it was the worst pain he ever felt so I have actually been kind of scared of them. I have a relatively high tolerance for pain.. depending on the type of pain, but I do not want to deal with the pain I have heard others say they dealt with involving kidney stones.
