I'm sorry for being a party to fricking this thread up earlier. I got involved when people started talking bad about pit bulls. I shouldn't have even kept responding to Garth. My bad, dude

So you and your GF rent the house. Does the neighbor/dog owner own their home or rent? If they're renting they would have to have renters insurance with liability coverage to have any insurance to cover a dog bite.

Correct me and my gf rent the house...I hope that the neighbors have renters insurannce

Same thing happen to a friend a couple years ago. Neighbor wouldn't pay anything. She got a lawyer and she was happy with the settlement though she wouldn't tell me how much

My daughter got attacked by 3 chows 4 years ago up in Atlanta. She received 135 stitches on both legs. My ex wife sued the neighbor because he didn't have signs posted on the fence. My daughter received a settlement but I have no clue how much but I know my daughter has her college played for.

How is it their fault if it was on a chain in their yard?

Please school me. All I know about dog bites, is my son got attacked and the dog got taken away

I knew a kid. David, every day David would walk by the Ancar house and stick their dog "Butch" with a stick. Butch was a shitty dog, but I could pet him and most others could too. His owners just sucked and never did anything but put ol roy in his bowl.

One day, David was walking home and old Butch was loose. He got to David and tore the skin off of his leg. Tore a chunk out of his arm too.

David's family got paid and Butch was put to sleep.

Sad, because I always thought he had it coming.

But most people bit by dogs don't. But generally no matter what the scenario; chained up, restrained, inside or loose the owner is liable for any damages caused by the dog.
