We kinda have differing stories. These pieces of shite never came over to see if my daughter was ok. Never offered anything. Only thing I heard as the ambulance was taking me and her away was "it ain't my dogs fault. It was on a chain"

definitely...thankfully I am not in your situation...

I was extremely pissed in my situation because I was inside watching football when this occured.

I had to chase my dog around the yard at full sprint, because my gf let go of the leash when she got bit...

I was afraid he would run out into the round...I actually screwed up my back diving for the leash when he was running across the yard...but I am not going to put that on the neighbors

Dog was on a chain in their yard. My daughter was in their yard playing with their kid when the dog attacked her.
my daughter was invited to play on their property.

I don't know...my gut is telling me to go tell the neighbors that I am bringing my dog to the vet and they have to pay for it...as well as any expenses my gf incurs during her rehab...but I know that she isn't going to like that decision.

ETA: As well as the money that they owe me and her for taking off of work

Dog was laying under a car. Daughter ran by the car and dog came out and attacked her. She never even saw it coming.
The owners have a fenced in backyard but are intent to chain the dog in their open front yard.

I think the max on a dog bite claim in Louisiana is fifty grand. OT lawyers can set me straight if they think I'm wrong.

Just bring your dog to the vet and then bring your neighbors the bill along with your gf's ER bill. If they pay them, no big deal. If not, then see where you want to go then.

pretty much what I am planning to do...but I am waiting to see if my dog actually needs to go to the vet...

She won't like that I am going to get the neighbors to pay for her bills, but whatever...

I would think his homeowners insurance policy should cover this. Could be different since it wasn't on their property but I'd look to see. I think some can cover around $5k of medical bills.
