To answer thread, go with the Caddy.
Get heating pad if it doesn't have heated seats. Take lots of aleve or something better if you have it.
Good luck. Bad backs are the fricking worst.

We always board ours. Weekend trips, they go to the pet place down the road. Long trips, a lady comes and picks them up and takes them to her ranch where they get to run around with a bunch of other dogs she keeps. Like $300 for a week for 2 dogs.

We boarded our 2 years ago at a place uptown... dogs came home sick and had a bunch of vet bills plus they were shitting all over our house. She wont board them again.
