Requiring citizens to wear a mask and social distance is more than reasonable. States have a lot more power than you think when it comes to health and public safety. If the Supreme Court ruled in this case that states can make vaccinations mandatory, you think they would strike down orders to wear masks?

Who’s enforcing it? We just had thousands of people in the street on a daily basis without masks - how many tickets were written?

Did they? And did that result in any criminal charges or punitive action against any anti- vaccseres?

When did they require it of all people? They require it for public school. I don’t think they can force you to vaccinate your kid.

They can do what ever they want with public schools. They run them. The people’s recourse is to vote in better leaders.

People are pissed they are forcing this on private individuals and private business.

In 1905 Boston.

That's why they heard and ruled on the case.

Wrong, you ignorant shite. Exceptions were carved out then and even today the case hasn't invalidated exemptions to public vaccine policies.

That's not the same as saying they can't.

Because they absolutely can.

Yes. They have an AR (restaurant) permit as opposed to an AG (bar) permit.

You can verify here.

the courts to interfere for the protection of such persons.

Maybe if your tiny brain could do more than 1st page Google results, you'd understand the nuance here. This is from Jacobsen v. Massachusetts and it emphatically states there are limits upon what measures the states can pass. "Reasonably required" gives a hell of a lot of leeway for courts to rule against any state or locality's government imposing mask mandates and that doesn't even get into far more cases touching on the due process aspects in play here.

I agree with your comments, but I'm wondering how the court would view "community to protect itself against an
epidemic threatening the safety of all" when there is better than a 98% cure rate for COVID-19? Seems to me that an "epidemic" with that cure/survival rate can not be construed as an "epidemic threatening the safety of all".

A worthless RINO frick. His usefulness was up after Miss Piggy was defeated. It's long past time for him to go as well.

Was this government by edict or was this a law passed by the legislature?

My neighborhood bar doesn't ID unless you are going there on Friday or Saturday night.

And last time I went to a bar, they checked my ID. They didn't record my name, address and phone number to be given over to the state on demand.

, that's not how survival rates are calculated.

That's like saying the survival rate of murder is 99.9886%.

Landry responds

Dear Governor Edwards,

I appreciate your deep concern over the official Opinion 20-0068 issued by the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office last week.

Shortly after we – at great cost to our economy and personal freedoms – “flattened the curve,” you surprisingly applauded extraordinarily large groups of people who were gathering in violation of practically every order you had issued to contain the virus – orders which emphasized social distancing.
