Natural drainage is a natural servitude, refer to LA Civil Code 655

Install a french drain system under the ground with drains in various parts of the yard.

My yard like most, drain to the rear where there is a "simple" ditch which runs along the rear of the yards.
This is what he has blocked with his dam, preventing my runoff from entering the "ditch" which is on the property line/fence.

I can't see the photos, but can I assume that this "ditch" is on his property? I can't see how he could legally block the drainage to this ditch otherwise.
Also, if it is a ditch substantial enough to allow for drainage, how does it allow runoff into his yard?

He can't legally do that but you will need to hire an attorney to explain that to him and to possibly take action if it bothers you that much.

Yeah I was able to get the photos to come up and it does look illegal. Still don't see the drainage ditch however.

Doesn't matter if you own .1 ac or 5,000, there's always an a-hole neighbor.
