My son's at LSU and said yesterday the guy in the tie will need surgery to fix an orbital bone. His source is pretty close to the situation. Same story about needing surgery on an LSU parent facebook site, which also indicated that charges are pending.
There were plenty of fights in college 25+ years ago, but things seem more brutal these days. Kicks to the head while a guy is down, sucker punches, wilding in Tiger Town, and a fight I saw at Mardi Gras where a guy was slammed head-first into the concrete (causing bleeding on the brain - he spent a few days at LSU med center). Some of it's stuff that always went on that now finds its way to a smartphone, but it seems that any sense of duty to have a fair fight is nonexistent.
back in the day(80s) if we had a skirmish it was usually over quickly with rare real injuries, and usually the combatants were friends after.

Hopefully the welder baw has his pay given to the victim via court order for a decade or so. I'd be suing the shite out of him.

Time for bow tie kid to call the Official Injury Attorneys for LSU Athletics, Dudley & DeBosier

The vast majority of issues are not from the fraternities. It's like when Gravy tries to use the one example of white-on-black violence that he can find as a blanket example. It's just illogical.
Hell, this incident only involves fraternities because he decked a pledge who was trying to keep him from fighting everyone. The cast kid isn't Greek, nor a student.

So they don't have anything going on at the frat houses before the games? When I was in school people threw Frisbees on the parade grounds because it was never that crowded. That was 40 years ago though and probably the last time I went that way was to the TigerDroppings tailgate that KajunGee and TreeDawg cooked at. What year was that?

The welder baw will be your typical field hand by the time he's 30. Half his paycheck will go to child support while the other half will go to paying off this frat shite's medical bills. He'll still have his black Dodge, a couple more tattoos, a cooler full of Mic Ultra, and trying to scrape together some overtime cash to go on Spring Break.

LSU made sure to put in place new rules that frick over chapters even more. Anything that happens at a chapter house that has alcohol involved must be registered with LSU and you must have a third party vendor and security. Most small chapters can't afford that, and the big chapters just don't want to pay for LSU's bullshite, so they all go to the Parade Grounds. That's how you end up with this shite.
Obviously, stuff happens at chapter houses all the time that involves alcohol, but on gameday, you can't sneak one by.

There is at the very least a correlation between more fraternities moving to the parade ground and more of these fights happening every year. Add in the amount of garbage left out there every week and I'd say it's beyond time for LSU to just begin allowing the fraternities to have parties at their houses on gameday and maybe we can avoid some of the literal and figurative trash from further ruining the parade ground.

are frat kids not douchebags anymore...just pussies now? back in my day the frat douchebags would start shite knowing they had back up...to me that is the definition of a piece of shite. What is the difference in a welder (guy making a living) being a douchebag and frat (punks (living off dad) starting shite if they are the same age?

That makes sense for all parties, so not happening

I'd assert the modern day 'zero tolerance' philosophy of this stuff from grade school through high school, has killed the self-policing mentality kids used to learn as sort of a matter of course growing up.

Most chapters would love to host it at their house. The problem is LSU is so overbearing that they have a fricking policy for everything. If they take away some of the bullshite rules, they'd probably see a better gameday experience for everyone.

It would be a win-win
Fraternities get to host tailgates at their house, adults have to deal with less xanexd out 19 year olds on the Parade Grounds

Problem is I'm sure LSU isn't too far off from selling off spots on the parade ground for tailgating, then we all lose.

The Chevron Tailgate At The Parade Ground baws are definitely going to check knuckles with the Get Gordon, Get it Done tailgaters
