It must suck not to have a really nice mall to go to.
Mall near me has several upscale designer stores and keeps expanding and adding more. In fact they are totally renovating many sections of it.
And I can shop there anytime and not feel unsafe or harassed.

I went to the mall during Christmas time. Yes, it’s a hang out for teen, but haven’t malls always been that? I haven’t had any problems the few times I go.

I've got a simple way to cure this.
Charge $20, non-refundable but applicable toward store purchases, at the door. That'll clear that shite up real quick.

The people that go there to loiter and don't actually shop permanently turns a lot of people away. Pick your poison.
I already use Amazon for clothing instead of the mall for this reason. If I want a shirt, it's far more pleasant to pick 7 out and use Prime Wardrobe than it is to go to that mall and go store hopping. Of course, your local mall's mileage may vary, as not every mall suffers from the same problems.

The easiest way to clean up a mall is to make it not attractive to people you don’t want in your mall
Easiest way, large security visible, no “trash” stores, as many high end stores as possible that market will allow.
Most importantly keep the mall clean and as little empty stores as possible.
Mall of Louisiana has declined but still not bad. Never felt unsafe shopping there.
Main Event will be telling to the malls future when it opens.

MOL is well on its way to becoming the next Cortana and Main Event will only hasten it’s downfall. Places with unrestricted entry in Baton Rouge always turn to shite because they attract loiterers.

Shopping centers and their merchants are a reflection of the demographics. As great as it sounds to put a bunch if high end stores in a mall to "turn it around", that's just not the reality. Demographics dictate tenant mix....not the other way around.
