Long, cold, dark winters. And if you don't have a decent job and are facing some adversity it can be tough to handle. Vermont has the same problem. Lots of people strung out on heroin.

You realize this what helped solve the crime. Regardless of what the guy did. And don't think that woman is not at play here too. She was there when he lured that poor guy to his death. Just because another man is giving your wife what you cant is not a free pass to commit despicable evil. Hope that guy gets turned out in prison for life.
